In 2015, I moved over a thousand miles north from my sleepy suburban hometown to Seattle and excitedly captured the life and energy of the city. Only later did I recognize that the loneliness and isolation I must have been feeling were radiating from these photographs.

This photo essay from then chronicles that poignant time period when the city felt so new, yet so lonely.
